What is an electronic health record or EHR?
Is an official health record for an individual that is shared among multiple facilities and agencies. Digitized health information systems are expected to improve efficiency and quality of care and, ultimately, reduce costs. The EHR has the ability to generate a complete record of a clinical patient encounter - as well as supporting other care-related activities directly or indirectly via interface - including evidence-based decision support, quality management, and outcomes reporting.

What is an electronic health record system or EHRS?
When an individual patient's EMRs come from various health care institutions, the EHR would be generated if the health care institution will connect to form a network. Furthermore EHRs of patients when grouped together by a program may create a large repository or database of health related data. This database is known as electronic record system or EHRS.
